About — StudioEnnea
Every thing and every place is more than it is.
You only need to look soft enough and long enough.
We enjoy paying attention to make something full of time
that triggers more ideas and more time.
We start weightless with drawings and images.
We grab our pens and pencils and our valuable software
and we combine it with other peoples' attention,
knowledge and expertise we have accumulated so far
-the tapestry called science and culture and experience-
and continue to collect vigorously.
Each individual project, strategy, bench and table
that we make carries its own particular weight
nurtured from its unique circumstances and potentials.
We have galoshes and come from rural landscapes.
We are fond of clouds and cities
They all converge there one way or another.
We do not design for admiration from a distance. We design a thoughtful spatial textile for the family at breakfast, the one arriving early, the child who finds a favorite corner of a stair.
Architecture that disappears into daily life, and quietly improves it, is the only kind worth practicing.
Tasos Giannakopoulos is from Patras, Greece. He received his first Master in Architecture from University of Patras with distinction. After that, Tasos completed his Master in Architecture II degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design with full scholarship.
Half Greek and half American he celebrates hybrids and perversions of
canons.
He draws and reads and writes and paints a lot, but mostly draws. He enjoys
meddling with ideas and constructing them in real life. This takes time,
however, so he gets back to his studio in Patras
and draws some
more.
Nikolas Rekoutis is from Patras, Greece.
He is a licensed architect in Greece and Germany.
He holds a Master in Architecture from University of Patras.
He has spent time living and working in vivid places
such as Barcelona, Athens, Coimbra and Berlin,
where he currently resides and spends his days drawing.
He collages all the time.
It is a way of making sense of time for him
and of making sense of relationships between
diverse materials, figures and light.
Studio ENNEA is an architecture studio that examines and produces ideas, images, objects, buildings, and infrastructure.
The studio is led by Tasos Giannakopoulos and Nikolas Rekoutis
